Microdermabrasion/Dermaplaning

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive treatment to exfoliate or remove the inactive surface layer of the skin in order to improve the texture and appearance of your skin. Microdermabrasion has been used in Europe for years. Now that it is available in the United States, it has become one of the most popular exfoliating regimens either alone or as a preparatory process for further aesthetic treatments. Our FDA-approved microdermabrasion treatment utilizes a fine spray of medical grade aluminum oxide crystals applied to the skin and these are then vacuumed away along with the old, dead skin cells. After treatment, your skin is left with a fresh soft and smooth texture often described as glowing.
Microdermabrasion can improve the skin of any gender, age or skin type. Benefits include:
- Deep cleansing of oil from clogged pores and blackheads often associated with acne >
- Improving dull or uneven skin pigmentation
- Improving superficial imperfections of the skin such as fine lines, large pores, acne and hyperpigmentation scars
- Preparing the skin surface to better absorb topical medications and skin rejuvenation products
- Increasing the effectiveness of skin rejuvenation procedures by removing the outer barrier of dead cells
- Increasing skin circulation for a natural glow
- Stimulating the production of collagen resulting in a firmer skin foundation
- Providing a more youthful appearance with a healthier, more vibrant, hydrated and improved texture to the treated areas
Microdermabrasion is most effective when performed in series of 9 to 12 procedures over a 3 month period. After this series of treatments, we recommend a "refresher" treatment every 4 weeks. skinkareltd utilizes the ExcellaDerm Microderm SystemsTM operated by licensed aestheticians under the supervision of our on-site physician, Dr. Drury. Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a skin resurfacing procedure that uses a special surgical blade to gently scrape away the top layer of dead epidermal cell. Dermaplaning can be used on small areas of the skin or on the entire face and also removes the "peach fuzz" which traps excess dirt and oil without growing back thicker. It can improve scarring, smooth out small facial wrinkles, and sometimes remove pre-cancerous growths known as keratoses. It is non-invasive and helps to make other skin care treatments more effective. Quick, painless, effective, and requiring no downtime, this treatment leaves the skin with a smoother appearance.
