With our Lumenis OneTM system, we are can perform treatments safely on any area of the body by a process of selective photothermolysis . This means that the light source targets specific tissue that is damaged and destroys the defective cells through heating while protecting the normal desired skin. This "controlled damage" is accomplished while maintaining a cool protected surface skin through the use of a Real Time Chiller tip unique to the Lumenis OneT technology. Treatments are especially effective for improving the appearance of the face, neck, chest, arms and hands.

Treatments are performed in our office with the patient comfortably sitting or lying on a table. Topical anesthetic gel may be applied to the treatment area at the patient's request. However, most patients find that the procedure is very tolerable without anesthetic, describing the procedure as a sensation of a rubber band snap as the pulses of energy are delivered through the specially designed cooled hand piece. The procedure takes 30-45 minutes leaving the treated skin slightly red. The minimal stinging or burning sensation disappears within a couple of hours.

A minimum of 3-5 treatments is usually required for satisfactory results, depending on the area treated and the severity of the skin condition. Treatments are spaced at three to four week intervals and the effects are cumulative. Maintenance treatments are generally required to maintain the desired results.

Clients with significant freckling, hyperpigmentation and sun damage will notice these imperfections to be darker initially. The darkening of brown spots lasts a few days as the pigmentation becomes more coarse and gently sloughs. After one treatment, the skin will have a more even tone with a smoother look and feel. Sun spots fade, pore sizes decrease, vessels disappear, and the signs and symptoms associated with rosacea progressively fade. Improvements are gradual and cumulative. What remains is smoother, healthier, younger looking skin! No other technology presently provides the long-term improvement of complexion and texture that IPL Photorejuvenation offers - all with no "downtime."   Back To Services
